Ryan has worked for the U.S. Attorney’s Office since 2012. He currently is the Deputy Criminal Chief for the Economic Crimes Unit, which prosecutes white collar crimes, including fraud, public corruption, and tax crimes. Ryan also leads the Affirmative Civil Enforcement Unit, which files civil lawsuits to recover money on behalf of the United States. Prior to working for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ryan worked as a law clerk for United States District Court Judge Sam E. Haddon (2010-2011) and Montana Supreme Court Justice Jim Rice (2009-2010).

During Ryan’s school years, he worked as a Missoula Smokejumper, which included Ryan fighting fires by jumping out of U.S. Forest Service airplanes and landing by parachute in remote areas of the West.
