On Saturday, December 7, President Deane, accompanied by Regent Cal Mayo and his wife Caroline, left Jackson, Mississippi and headed to New Orleans for the Louisiana Fellows dinner. Once they arrived in NOLA, to no one’s surprise, there was a parade blocking the route to the hotel. Once they finally arrived – on foot – they met about a dozen Fellows for lunch who were unable to make it to the dinner that night, including Judicial Fellow Brian Jackson. Judge Jackson served with President Deane in the Justice Department many years ago. The large crowd in attendance for the evening event enjoyed live music and dinner catered by Galatoire’s, a renowned restaurant in the city. State Chair Tim Daniels updated the crowd on the State Committee and Regent Mayo introduced President Deane for brief remarks, which included updates on the Strategic Plan and the process by which the College issues public statements.
