On Thursday, December 5, President Deane took an early morning flight from Portland to reach Little Rock in time to attend the Arkansas Fellows Dinner. The event was held at the Clinton Presidential Library. The event space was beautifully decorated in the colors of the season with views of the Little Rock night skyline. The event was well-attended and included Regent Cal Mayo and his wife Caroline, State Chair Melody Piazza, and Former Regent Lynn Pruitt and her husband Chip. President Deane was also able to welcome Inductee Tom Williams, who attended with his wife Shayla. State Chair Piazza spoke to the group and updated everyone on the activities of the State Committee. Arkansas had two candidates approved for induction last year and they currently have a robust watch list. Regent Mayo then introduced President Deane, who provided brief remarks and spoke about the process of making public statements, again to great interest.
