Michael P. McNamara

Mike McNamara has a track record of trying or otherwise successfully resolving a wide range of complex litigation matters. His experience spans malpractice, securities, fraud, Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), patent, antitrust, intellectual property, insurance, class action, breach of contract, real estate, and employment issues. Mike is frequently sought out by law firms to handle their most sensitive professional liability matters. He is a co-chair of Jenner & Blocks Law Firm and Professional Services Defense Practice, and is ranked nationwide by Chambers USA as a “Star Individual.”

Mike is a fellow of both the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL). He secured a Band 1 individual ranking from Chambers USA in the inaugural year for the Law Firm Defense category and in 2026 was named a Star Individual, a distinction Chambers reserves for lawyers with exceptional recommendations in their field. Chambers USA has also ranked him in General Commercial Litigation from 2012 to 2025, with clients consistently describing him as “a very imaginative trial strategist,” “energetic and sophisticated,” and a “clever, hardworking, and trustworthy trial lawyer.” Licensed in California, New York, and the District of Columbia, and with experience in state and federal courts across the country, Mike has an established national practice.

Mike has been named a Top Professional Responsibility Lawyer by the Daily Journal five years in a row, as well as a Leading Commercial Litigator, and the American Lawyer recognized him as a Trailblazer for his work defending law firms. He is certified by the State Bar of California as a Specialist in Legal Malpractice Law and previously served on ACTLs Legal Ethics and Professionalism Committee with the mandate to advance, improve and promote ethical standards and professionalism in the trial bar in all its aspects in both the United States and Canada.

Mike is a leader within the Los Angeles legal community, currently serving as the Vice Chair of the State Committee for Southern California of the ACTL. He previously served as the President of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers and on the Executive Committee of the Litigation Section for the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
