I am a trial lawyer at Robins Kaplan L.L.P. I am admitted in New York and Minnesota, and spend most of my time in Minneapolis. I lead the firms Health and Life Sciences Industry Group and serve as a member of the firm’s Executive Board. A significant portion of my work has involved patent disputes in the areas of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and computer hardware and software. I grew up in Berkeley, California. My father was an English professor, and my mother, who immigrated from Germany, was a book editor and later a cheese importer. I am a dual citizen of the United States and Germany. I enjoy running. Ive run and continue to run a number of half marathons, and I have summited the Courchevel and the Petit St. Bernard passes on my bike. I studied German and French language and literature, with a minor in Russian language and literature, at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. I graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1990. I play guitar in a band with my wife, who is also a lawyer. I am a devoted husband and father of four, and one of my most significant joys is cooking and eating with my family and friends.
