Frank E Lamothe III has over 40 years experience in litigation and adversarial proceedings. His areas of trial practice include complex tort litigation and business litigation.
He has litigated in the area of complex personal injury and death matters including maritime, Jones Act, aviation, interstate trucking, offshore platforms and floating structures, oilfield explosions and clergy sex abuse.
He has also litigated in the areas of business torts, breach of contract, unfair trade practices, breach of fiduciary duties, fraud, intellectual property rights, computer software, lease disputes, insurance coverage issues, corporation-shareholder issues, partnership disputes and employment agreement litigation.
He has tried cases in both state and federal courts in Louisiana, as well as in other states including Arizona, Florida and Mississippi. He is a member of the bars of Louisiana, Texas and Colorado.
Mr. Lamothe is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, which is by invitation to distinguished trial lawyers after extensive peer review.
He is also an invited member of the American Board of Trial Advocates which is by invitation and requires a minimum of 20 completed jury trials for consideration. He is a Past President of the Louisiana Chapter and currently serves as a National Board Representative.
Mr. Lamothe is one of the select attorneys who has the distinction to be listed in all editions of

Mr. Lamothe is listed in the 2007 through 2015 editions of Louisiana Super Lawyers, which is limited to no more than 5% of the attorneys in the state.

He is a member of the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association and previously served as the Co-Chair of the Fiduciary Duties Subcommittee of the Business Torts Committee.
He is Past Chair of the Business Torts Section of the American Association of Justice and Past
Chairman of the Business Torts Section of the Louisiana Association of Justice.
Mr. Lamothe has taught Trial Advocacy at the Tulane University School of Law, the Paul F. Hebert School of Law at Louisiana State University and the School of Law at Loyola University in New Orleans.
Mr. Lamothe is the author of numerous articles on many litigation topics including preparation and trial of lawsuits, business torts, personal injury and death, maritime cases, offshore accidents, aviation cases internal corporate investigations, loss of profits in business cases, unfair trade practices, breach of fiduciary duty, computer software litigation, attorney-client privilege and the attorney work product doctrine. He has served on seminar programs and continuing legal education programs on a variety of subjects relating to his trial practice.
He is past president of the Board of Directors of the Christwood Retirement Community. He lives in New Orleans, Louisiana and is the father of three children. His leisure activities include reading, travel, tennis, motorcycle touring, motorcycle track riding and Krav Maga (martial arts) training.
