David A. Depolo

Mr. Depolo was born in San Francisco, California, and grew up in the Bay Area. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at San Diego in 1981 and his law degree from the University of San Diego in 1984. A member of the State Bar of California since 1985, he is admitted to practice before all of the State and Federal District Courts located in California, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has successfully tried to verdict civil cases on behalf of defendants in eight counties and has prosecuted criminal actions at trial for the office of the Alameda County District Attorney. Mr. Depolo’s areas of specialization include medical malpractice, dental malpractice, hospital liability and professional board representation.

In 2001, Mr. Depolo formed the law firm with Tom Donnelly and Jim Nelson. He has been elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates and is currently a member of the San Francisco Chapter’s Executive Board. He is board certified in Civil Trial Advocacy and Civil Pretrial Practice Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, is a certified Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys with special competence in Medical Professional Liability, and he is a member of the American College of Board Certified Attorneys and a member of the California Medical-Legal Committee. He has received the highest rating (AV) for legal ability and ethical standards by Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Depolo has been selected for inclusion in the Northern California List of Super Lawyers, the San Francisco Chronicle’s Top Attorneys and Top Attorneys in Northern California annually since 2006 and Marquis Who’s Who. He is a published author, a recurrent speaker on trial advocacy and pre-trial preparation, and has served as an instructor on multiple occasions for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy teaching programs for practicing attorneys at the University of San Francisco and the American Board of Trial Advocates “Masters in Trial”.
