Illuminated Monuments

After attending the opening reception, continue enjoying your evening with Fellows and guests as you take in an iconic D.C. evening experience. As the sun sets, the world-famous D.C. monuments come to life. Each monument along the 90-minute tour is beautifully illuminated, and our onboard certified D.C. city guide will share each monument’s history while also providing stops to take photos.
Georgetown Food Tour

This history-infused tasting tour explores the evolution of the D.C. Georgetown neighborhood, focusing on the flavors and the stories that give the area its own genuine identity. Once a thriving port, Georgetown is D.C.’s oldest neighborhood and still reveals glimpses of mule-drawn boats and flour mills. Discover Georgetown’s transition from a port city to an elite enclave, where people from every continent and many religions lived together and built an eclectic culinary community. More than just a premier shopping destination, Georgetown has a delicious and culturally diverse history that is sure to surprise you. The guided walking tour offers 3 food stops… and as they say, lunch is served!
We want to share that our food tour partner was selected by their dedication to their company mission to support the local community. A portion of each ticket price is donated to the local charity: Bread for the City. Each donation feeds a resident in need three full meals. The restaurant partners included on the tour are award-winning and locally owned; many are women or minority owned.

Our 2-hour architectural walking tour takes you through the political core of Washington, D.C. with stops at iconic locations while your knowledgeable guide shares stories from the original city plan by Pierre Charles L’Enfant, the tumultuous construction of the U.S. Capitol Building, the rise of the magnificent Beaux Arts Library of Congress, and the backstory of the imposing Supreme Court building. Learn about the tremendous influence, controversy, and even chaos of prolific designers and history-makers such as Thomas Jefferson, Robert Mills, Frederick Law Olmsted, and Daniel Burnham. The tour begins in the massive Great Hall of Union Station, once the largest train station in the world. This gateway to the nation’s capital—where presidents, diplomats, and politicians have all passed through—has hosted inaugural balls, parties, protests, and even a runaway train. Stroll past Columbus “Fountain” to the steps of the Supreme Court, the original front of the U.S Capitol and inside the breathtaking Library of Congress before taking the underground tunnel to the U.S. Capitol.

The easy, flat terrain from the Washington Monument, National Mall, past the White House and to the monument and tree-lined Tidal Basin, make for a fun and relaxing afternoon among the remarkable memorials and history that D.C. is known for. Your guide will provide insights and share the history of the sites, creating a rich and memorable experience.
