President John Day joined about thirty Fellows and guests at the West Virginia Fellows Dinner in Charleston, West Virginia, on Thursday, April 30, 2026. The dinner was organized by West Virginia State Chair Bryant Spann and held at Noah’s, a small downtown Charleston restaurant. President Day discussed the Reputation Project, a new outreach initiative, applauding the two Fellows stepping forward to deliver “Reputation” speeches at West Virginia law schools. The featured speaker of the evening was Federal Judge Joe Goodwin, widely known for handling the vaginal mesh multidistrict litigation. Judge Goodwin delivered after-dinner remarks, focusing on concerns involving the rule of law and judicial independence. He encouraged the College to create an initiative designed to increase public confidence in the judiciary by encouraging ordinary citizens to observe court proceedings.
