President Day traveled to Chicago for the Upstate Illinois Fellows Dinner at Osteria Via Stato. State Chair Brian Sieve arranged the event, which drew approximately thirty-five Fellows. President Day addressed the group on several topics, including the upcoming Leadership Workshop, the Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., and the importance of identifying candidates for Fellowship. He also discussed the College’s process for issuing public statements on matters affecting the Rule of Law and judicial independence. His remarks on these principles were well received by the Fellows present. President Day also engaged in discussions about the “Just The Beginning” program with interested Fellows. Among those in attendance were Vice Chair Lisa Noller and former Regent Patti Bobb. President Day also spoke with recent inductee Megan Church. In a tradition that has become a hallmark of the Upstate Illinois gatherings, Fellow Dan Boho provided excellent wines for the evening’s enjoyment. The event concluded late in the evening, marking another successful gathering of the Upstate Illinois Fellowship.
