On December 5, President Day and his wife Joy traveled to Madison, Mississippi for the Mississippi Fellows Dinner. Dinner was held at the Reunion Golf and Country Club, which was built by a plaintiff’s lawyer who wanted a nice place to play golf. After joining Past State Chair Trey Byars for lunch, President Day continued on to Oxford, where he met with Regent Cal Mayo and toured the Ole Miss campus. State Chair Walter (Bubba) Morrison hosted the black-tie dinner that evening. In addition to President Day’s remarks about the College’s work, State Chair Morrison spoke of the work of the Chapter over the past year and the unfortunate passing of five Fellows in 2025. Fellow Steve Thomas had unexpectedly passed away that same day at his home, and this raised the total loss of Mississippi Fellows in one year to 10%.
