On the latest episode of the Nashville Banner’s Banner & Company podcast, with host Demetria Kalodimos and producer Steve Haruch, ACTL President John Day discusses his journey from small-town Wisconsin to leading North America’s preeminent professional association of trial lawyers.
He also reflects on recent threats to judicial independence, the dangers of political prosecutions, and the importance of the rule of law in everyday life: “The rule of law is like oxygen… We don’t even know that it’s operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. And now, when it’s being pushed and being threatened, we’re all hyper-aware of it – just like we would be of oxygen if we were at 14,000 feet.”
