The Georgia Fellows dinner was held at the Cherokee Town and Country Club, a beautiful property just outside of downtown Atlanta located near the governor’s mansion. President Deane attended the reception and dinner, held in one of the club’s grand ballrooms. State Chair Virgil Adams presided, with Past President Chilton Varner, Regent Bob MacKenzie, National Moot Court Competition Committee Chair, Richard “Doc” Schneider, and Boot Camp Trial Training Programs Committee Chair Jeff Brickman in attendance. In his remarks, President Deane noted that under Schneider’s leadership, the moot court competition went off flawlessly and continues to be recognized as the premier moot court competition in the United States. This year there were more than 150 accredited law schools participating and more than 1,000 individual students. President Deane also remarked on the College’s initiatives supporting the rule of law and updated Fellows on the implementation of the strategic plan. The Georgia Fellows dinner was well attended with seventy Fellows and guests in attendance and enjoyed by all.
