President-Elect John Day, along with his wife Joy, attended the Colorado Summer Dinner in Cherry Hills Village, where he joined nearly twenty Fellows and their guests for a series of collegial and substantive discussions. In his remarks, President-Elect Day underscored the College’s ongoing commitment to judicial independence and the Rule of Law, highlighting the importance of public advocacy and the need for the College to speak out on these critical issues. He also encouraged Fellows to actively identify and support new candidates for fellowship, emphasizing the value of expanding the College’s reach and influence. Throughout the visit, President-Elect Day engaged in meaningful conversations with Colorado Fellows, including Hon. Ross Buchanan (ret.) and former judge Gary Jackson, and applauded the important work being performed by Immediate Past State Chair Kenzo Kawanabe and Fellow Eric Olson in advancing rule of law initiatives. He reported strong support among attendees for the College’s efforts to defend judicial independence, with several Fellows urging even greater engagement.
