Immediate Past President Bill Murphy and his wife Pat, along with Regent Michelle Awad, enjoyed an extended tour through the Canadian Atlantic Provinces, meeting with numerous Fellows for an annual trio of events. The New Brunswick Fellows dinner was held on June 23 in Moncton, a four-hour drive from Prince Edward Island. The meeting was well attended with five of the eight New Brunswick Fellows in attendance, including Province Chair Rob Purdy and recently inducted Fellow Lynn Murray, the only Prince Edward Island Fellow. Past President Murphy spoke about the College’s efforts to preserve the Rule of Law and its retention of a public relations firm to aid in that effort. The next day, the group traveled toward Halifax via Regent Awad’s country “cottage,” a beautiful property complete with blueberry fields. On Wednesday, June 25, the well-attended Halifax Fellows Dinner was held at a local yacht club. Next, Past President Murphy traveled to St. John’s Newfoundland, for the final in the trio of Fellows’ Dinners. That event was also well attended, with six or seven Fellows, including the newest inductee, Rosellen Sullivan, and Province Vice Chair, Dan Simmons. Though the several sub-groups of the Atlantic Provinces are small in the number of Fellows, they are high in enthusiasm for the College.
