On December 4, President Day and his wife Joy traveled to Little Rock, Arkansas for the Arkansas Fellows Dinner, held at the Capital Hotel and hosted by State Chair Michelle Ator. Around forty-five Fellows and guests attended. President Day spoke about the Cornerstone Project – sharing successful committee initiatives and providing practical guidance to states and provinces for duplication – along with the Board process for issuing statements and the importance of identifying candidates for fellowship. President Day also paid tribute to recently deceased judicial Fellow, Billy Roy Wilson, who served on the federal district court and died on October 27. Judge Wilson’s wife, Judge Cathi Compton, was present and appreciated the recognition of Judge Wilson’s passing. Then Judicial Fellow Christy Comstock, a federal magistrate judge, thanked the College for speaking out on behalf of the nation’s judiciary. She related how her colleagues greatly appreciated the support from attorneys, and how those words are few and far between.
