President Deane joined approximately thirty Fellows and guests in Calgary for the Alberta Fellows Dinner on April 24, 2025. The dinner was held at the Deane House, described by the hosts as a historic property built in 1906 and named after the last serving North West Mountie – Captain Richard Burton Deane. President Deane was joined by Regent Carey Matovich, Former Regent Mona Duckett, and Honorary Chair of the Canadian Foundation and former Supreme Court Justice, The Hon. Jack Major. Distinguished Justices Kevin Feehan, Alan Macleod and Neil Wittman attended, each described as a great storyteller. Province Chair Deborah Hatch presided over the gathering. Much of the spirited conversation for the evening centered around the upcoming Canadian elections. President Deane presented remarks to the Fellows about happenings at the College, discussed the recently issued public statements of the College, and gave a preview of the Annual Meeting to be held in Washington, D.C. this fall.
