Announcing: Updated In-House Counsel Program

NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA (March 24, 2023) - The American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) announces a new Corporate Litigation Counsel Trial Advocacy Program

Corporate Litigation Counsel Trial Advocacy Program

This complimentary program will be a one-of-a-kind opportunity for in-house counsel. The agenda will include: trial counsel selection, protecting the record on appeal, fair juries and jury research, ethics for in-house counsel managing litigation, selecting expert witnesses and direct and cross examination strategies, and opening statement and closing argument demonstrations.

“The College hopes, through this program, to further its commitment to professionalism and excellence in courtroom advocacy and to improve trust, confidence, and belief in our civil justice system. The future generation’s commitment to the rule of law and the civil trial system depends in part on both. ACTL Fellows, who are preeminent members of the trial bar from the U.S. and Canada, are particularly equipped to undertake this important service,” said Program Chair, Thomas J. Heiden, of Latham & Watkins, LLC (Chicago, IL). Heiden is also the ACTL Teaching of Trial and Appellate Advocacy Committee Chair.

The two-day program will be held in Chicago, Thursday, May 11, through Friday, May 12 and will be hosted by Winston & Strawn LLP. Please direct questions to Kimball Anderson at KAnderso@winston.com.
