The College offers many ways for Fellows to be involved, including service on a committee, attendance at a local event, or volunteering for special projects.

Peer-to-Peer Scholar Exchange Program
If you are looking for an easy, fun and rewarding way to help further two of the College’s important goals – civics education and outreach to the greater community – the College is excited to announce a partnership with the National Constitution Center to teach civics to students through their Peer-to-Peer Scholar Exchange Program. Committees
We have 62 state and province committees and nearly 40 general committees. The state and province committees identify, investigate and nominate candidates for fellowship in the College, as well as organize local outreach events and social events for Fellows. The general committees are each guided by their respective mandates. Committee appointments are made on an annual basis. Terms begin immediately following the Annual Meeting, which is generally held in late September.

Committee FAQs
How are Fellows selected for a committee?
Each summer the incoming President and President-Elect make appointments for the upcoming term, which begins at the conclusion of the Annual Meeting (usually late September). Fellows may request an appointment by filling out
this form or by contacting the National Office. Occasionally, mid-term appointments are made at the discretion of the committee's Regent Liaison and the appointing officer.
How long is a committee term?
Committee members are appointed for one year at a time, with terms beginning and ending to coincide with the Annual Meeting. Committee members generally serve no more than five years, and Chairs and Vice Chairs typically serve two years in each role.
How much time is involved?
The time commitment varies by committee. It might be a few hours every few months, or it could be several hours each month. Some committees work intensively over the same few months each year and are relatively dormant the rest of the year. If you are unsure about the time involved in participating on a specific committee, contact the Chair to get more information about the nature of the work and the time commitment.
