Michael P. Atkinson

Mr. Atkinson was born in Ft Worth, Texas, on February 19,1946. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1968 and the OU College of Law in 1972. After working as an assistant public defender and assistant district attorney in Oklahoma County, he obtained his Masters of Law from the University of Texas School of Law in 1975, after which time he returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma and began representing clients in a variety of cases. He enjoyed a successful trial practice, specializing in medical malpractice defense and representing clients harmed by defective products. His skill as a trial lawyer led to his acceptance of invitations to become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a Fellow of the international Academy of Trial Lawyers and a Diplomate of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He continues to be listed in Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers publications and has received many other awards and honors during his career as a trial lawyer. Over five decades, Mr Atkinson tried well over two hundred cases to jury verdict. In 2023, he became a member of the Montana State Bar. He and his wife, Melissa maintain residences in Tulsa, Oklahoma and on their ranch near Clyde Park, Montana.
