Hon. Hanni Fakhoury

The Honorable Hanni Fakhoury was appointed to the Contra Costa County Superior Court by California Governor Gavin Newsom on March 27, 2026 and took his oath of office on May 8, 2026. Prior to assuming the bench, Judge Fakhoury was a partner at Moeel Lah Fakhoury LLP, an Assistant Federal Public Defender in the Northern District of California, a Senior Staff Attorney for the Electronic Frontier Foundation and a Trial Attorney at Federal Defenders of San Diego, Inc. He received his law degree from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in 2007 and his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 2004.
