Jeffrey Montpetit practices personal injury, wrongful death, professional malpractice, civil rights law, police misconduct, auto and truck accidents, product liability, premises liability, property damage, and insurance litigation.

A graduate of the Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 1998, Jeffrey was admitted to the Minnesota State Bar and then joined SiebenCarey as an associate attorney. Jeffrey is now a shareholder in the firm and is admitted to practice law in Minnesota Federal District Court Seventh and Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, the State of Wisconsin and the Western District of Wisconsin. He has tried numerous cases in State and Federal courts in three different states: Minnesota, Wisconsin, and South Dakota. People injured in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and throughout the region call on Jeffrey for experienced representation.

Jeffrey is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), which recognizes verified credentials and requisite skill, integrity, and experience in the art of advocacy. A lawyer’s trial experience, history, and background make a difference!

Minnesota Lawyer selected Jeffrey as one of the publication’s “2014 Attorneys of the Year” based on his professional leadership and involvement in major cases with successful results. The honor was bestowed upon him again as a “2018 Attorneys of the Year,” thus becoming a “Circle of Excellence Attorney,” who has been named Attorney of the Year more than once, a rare accomplishment.

His peers also selected Jeffrey for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the field of Plaintiff Personal Injury Litigation every year since 2018. Since it was first published in 1983, Best Lawyers has become universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence.

Additionally, Jeffrey has been named a Super Lawyers Honoree every year since 2013. Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. This selection process includes independent research, peer nomination, and peer evaluations.

Before achieving Super Lawyer status, he was named a Rising Star, which asks Minnesota’s top lawyers to identify an elite group of emerging lawyers, either under 40 or in practice for less than ten years. Jeffrey received the honor of Rising Star from 1999-2012.

In 2022 and yearly since, Jeffrey was selected as a National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyer, which is only given to the top 100 in each state or region.

Jeffrey has helped recover damages for hundreds of injured people by assisting them in navigating through the complexities of a personal injury claim. His main objective is to protect his client’s rights in negotiations and, if necessary, through trial and appeal. He and his staff have helped people throughout multiple states get their lives back on track. His goal is to continue representing and serving injured persons as their ethical advocate. A native of Woodbury, Jeffrey lives with his wife and three children in the Twin Cities. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time with his family.
