I am honored to be
installed as the 57th President of the College and look forward to
continuing the work and direction set by the Board of Regents and Past
Presidents. The College’s mission is just as important now
as when it was founded in 1950. With all Fellows working together,
the College will continue to maintain and improve the standards of trial
practice, the administration of justice and the ethics of the
profession.
Today the College has more Fellows involved in more
activities than ever before. Our State and Province Committees are
active in identifying potential candidates and teaching trial advocacy
skills and ethics. In addition, the College has more than 40
active committees working on projects related to our mission. If
you aren’t involved and would like to be, please contact our
national office. There is enough work for all of us.
This year, the College will conduct a National
Symposium on the “Vanishing Trial” to address the
fundamental question of what can be done to reverse this trend.
The Foundation of the American College of Trial Lawyers is providing
financial support for this important activity.
In the coming months LeAnn and I will be traveling to
your province, state and regional meetings. We look forward to visiting
with old friends and meeting new ones. I also look forward to learning
from Fellows what we can do together to further the work of the
College.
